The Beyond Effect is inspring students to dream of how they can use the gifts, talents, and resources that God has given them to impact His Kingdom. Crossings is removing the lid on what students can do and asking them to partner their budens and their passions to share the gospel with the least of these.
How do we plan to do this?
- By unleashing the power of inspiration through sharing stories of how other students have gone Beyond Camp
- By challenging students to commit to writing out their God-given vision on our Beyond Wall
- By connecting students through an online community to encourage, inspire, and spur one another on in Christian love
Missions – We have started a new partnership with the International Mission Board and their Hands On program. We are sending several college summer staff to India for approximately six months. They have been a part of camp in the past, and now they have an opportunity to spread a passion for the nations, specifically for God’s care of orphans. Students have seen weekly live-streaming videos of those who live in Sandra’s Home, an orphanage dedicated to saving at-risk girls in India.
Over the past 10 years, Crossings has challenged students to give their money to assist in mission efforts all across the globe. Students have responded by donating over $600,000 to mission causes in the Philippines, Trinidad, Moldova, Ukraine and India. These offerings have been used to impact impoverished youth all over the world.
Stories – Students inspiring students. Students can and are making a difference in their world. We want them to see that it is possible because others are already doing it. Students will get the opportunity to hear first-hand the fears, challenges, and victories other students faced when they committed to going Beyond Camp.
Beyond Wall – We want students to put their dreams in writing and share them with the entire camp on the Beyond Wall. The Beyond Wall is in a central location on campus so students can see how other students plan on joining the Beyond Effect.
The Beyond Effect is a step in a new direction for Crossings. Instead of just giving money to support a worthy cause, we envision thousands of students leaving our campus to accomplish amazing things around the world for the glory of God. With an estimated 147,000,000 orphans in this world, the need has never been greater. It is our prayer that we would be able to join students and be a loud voice for their cause. With God, the possibilities are Beyond imagination!
