Blog: July 18-21 (Kids Camp)

Everyone Loves Presents!!!

Tonight is the final full day of Kids Camp. The Lord has answered our prayers by continually showing up each and everyday. He has been using our theme this year to speak to students and draw them near to him. Today's theme was "the family." We talked about how we become apart of a new family once we accept Christ. God is our father and every believer and follower of Christ is our brother and sister. Its pretty neat when we think about it...we all gain soooo many new siblings once we have been adopted! How Sweet!! Tonight we had dinner at the Pavilon, and the B B B BOAT RACE followed.

Tonight at worship we talked about how God's Grace is a free gift, all we have to do is accept it. In Esphesians 2 we learned the it is by grace and grace alone that we have been saved through our faith in Christ. There is no work we can do that will gain our salvation, God is offering it to us for free! We also learned that being baptized, or copying a prayer from our preacher, or going down to the altar doesn't mean we are "saved." We are only "saved" by trusting Jesus as our personal savior and allowing him to reign in our lives as Lord. This week was truely blessed, and so much fun. Until next time... Goodnight J-Creek.

The time is NOW!

Today was our first full day of kids camp here at Jonathan Creek. We started out the morning with "Thumbs Up It's Morning", our morning celebration skit. Once we were finally awake and energized we broke off into our bible studies. Today's theme was the Father. We learned about how we are orphans unless we have a relationship with God the father. We also talked about how different he is from our earthly father, and also how similar he is in the way he wants to be our Dad. Tonight the gospel was presented by our camp pastor Scott Ogle. There were several kids who trusted Christ for the first time tonight. After worship is Stage Night! This is where several students perform any talent or act that they want. It is a fun time to worship our God and to enjoy some live entertainment as well! God is for sure moving this week...Our prayer is he would continue to move and fill this place with is unrelenting spirit!

KIDS CAMP IS HERE!!!!

So today was the first week of KIDS CAMP!!!!! We were so excited to see how excited the kids were once they stepped off of their vans, and buses from the long anticipated arrival here at the Creek. Today we started off with some activities to get them excited about the week such as: face painting, a photo booth, corn hole, basketball, frisbee, and much more. Once all of the churches check in we filled their bellies with hamburgers and watermellon and sent them off to worship. At worship the kids met with their bible studies for the first time. This was a fun interactive, get-to-know you time. The camp came back together for some worship and learning about our theme for the week, "Adopted." We always close the night with fun, food, fellowship, oh and of course... a DANCE PARTY!!! With their tummies full we turned them loose to get some sleep. Lets all say an extra prayer for their adult leaders tonight! Goodnight All.
