Today was another good day at camp. Our camp theme for the day was the family. The weather was very very warm and humid, but it was nice for lake sports and POI's. Tonight at worship our camp pastor spoke from the book of Romans chaper 8 about being justified through Christ. He also talked about how we are to respond to the calling to become a family member and what is to be expected afterward. It was a very powerful time for worship and responding to the Lord's calling over our lives. As usual we are going to be ending our night with "Shack Time" where tonights special is Chicken-On-A-Stick!!! We are very excited to see how the Lord is going to continue to move here at the creek!
The Lord has truely blessed us with a wonderful first full day at the Creek. In bible studies today we really focused on how we are sinful and separated from God. We are in desperate need of something to bridge the gap between his holiness and our depravity. It was a heavy day of thinking over our lives. POI's were very fun, the sun was super shiney today. Tonight during worship our camp Pastor Dustin explained to us that the thing we were missing to fill our void is Jesus Christ. There was a response time during worship tonight for those who have not committed to following Christ to do so and also for those who feel they need to change their lives to start walking in the right direction with the Lord. We ended the night with a fun fellowship at "The Shack." What a wonderful day is was here at Jonathan Creek.
Today is the day that students arrive! We had a wonderful first week and are excited to see how the Lord moves once again. We started out by greeting the churches with a group picture. Next there was FREE TIME. This is when the Staffers and Students get a real chance to hang out and get to know one another by face painting, corn hole, hillbilly golf, basketball, swimming, and much more. The first dinner is always served outside as a Crossings tradition. Worship was a great time and start for the week. We kicked off with some praise and worship, then the students moved into their small groups. The students then recieved their POI's for the week and got to know some faces they will be seeing all week. After worship there is a checkpoint time where youth groups get together and discuss their day and have a chance to encourage and pray for one another. We always go out with a bang at "Shack Time." Food, Fun, and Dancing the night away (or until curfew atleast) gets us pumped and ready for our full day tomorrow. Signing off, over and out!
