Day 4

Today was our last full day of camp. It was a beautiful day, perfectly sunny with a nice breeze, good for blobbing! Dinner was served outside at the Pavilon. Tonight we had our traditional boat race at the creek. We had a wide variety of boats this week but Elf Lick Baptist Church of Russelville, KY was the winner! Tomorrow we will find out who won most creative boat and the Titanic award. Tonight our camp pastor talked about sharing Christ with others. A lot of times we have conflict with others but aren't even stopped by the thought that they may not know Christ. A charge was given tonight to go and share what he has done in our lives and how he can change others. We learned that we are not a deciding factor of other's salvation but we are a tool in God's presence. Tonight during "Shack Time" was will be having our senior night. This is a time for those students who have just graduated high school to come and participate in a discussion with our staffers about differ colleges, things to look out for, and some advice. Tomorrow the students will be returing home. Until next time!

Day 3

Day 3 at JCreek and the students are still going strong. Today was another beautiful day. Tonight our camp pastor spoke about being paralyzed before the Lord. He posed the question: "What is paralyzing you from doing the Lord's work?" For those believers in the room, we were challenged to think of what is stopping us from being vulnerable before the Lord; and to the non believers, they were challenged to think of what was in the way of them having a relationship with Christ and giving up. The passage came from Mark 2 where the paralytic is lowered down fromt he roof so that he could see Jesus. The first thing Jesus did was forgive him of his sins, then he physically healed him. Worship was really wonderful. Tonight during "Shack Time" we are having our traditional Stage Night! This is where anyone who wants to can perform a talent of theirs for all of camp to see. It is truely a night for fun and laughter. Good Night All.

Day 2

Today was another full, exciting day here at Jonathan Creek. The Lord blessed us with warm weather and sunshine. The Theme of the day was "The Family." When we accept Christ into our lives we are adopted into his family. Our camp pastor, Mike Wilson, talked about when we become apart of God's family we also adopt his traits and characteristics. He felt called to open up the altar for those who felt led to make a decision and for those who needed to change something about their lives. After worship the churches broke into their checkpoint times. We ended the night with more fun, fellowship, and Chicken on a Stick at "The Shack."

Day 1

Today was truely an amazing first full day of camp. Here at J Creek we like to start our mornings off with soemthing called Morning Celebration. Morning Celebration is a time where the energy is really high and all of the students get pumped up and excited for the day. The band plays and we have a funny skit to get the students excited. During the skit we have a weather segment, a game segment, a highlight segment, and an announcements segment. This is a fun way to get needed information for the day out there and to get the kids energized and excited. After Morning Celebration we break up into small group and large group bible studies. From bible study and break thru time we transition to lunch. After lunch the students then broke up into checkpoint, POI's, and lake sports. Checkpoint is where church groups get to meet together and spend sometime hanging out, bonging, and learning more about the word. POI's stand for Point of Interest; this is the different activities the students signed up for such as mountain biking, kayaking, climbing, arts and crafts, etc... From there we went to dinner.

After dinner is we have a little bit of free time until worship. This was the night that the gospel was preached and Jesus was given as the solution to our sins. We opened the altar for those who wanted to make decisions to surrender their life to Christ. It was amazing to see all of the students who felt the Lord's calling and made a decision to follow him. After worship the church groups met together and we ended the day with some "shack time." The Lord's presence is truely in this place.

Opening Night

Today is the day that students arrive! We had a wonderful first week and are excited to see how the Lord moves once again. We started out by greeting the churches with a group picture. Next there was FREE TIME. This is when the Staffers and Students get a real chance to hang out and get to know one another by face painting, corn hole, hillbilly golf, basketball, swimming, and much more. The first dinner is always served outside as a Crossings tradition. Worship was a great time and start for the week. We kicked off with some praise and worship, then the students moved into their small groups. The students then recieved their POI's for the week and got to know some faces they will be seeing all week. After worship there is a checkpoint time where youth groups get together and discuss their day and have a chance to encourage and pray for one another. We always go out with a bang at "Shack Time." Food, Fun, and Dancing the night away (or until curfew atleast) gets us pumped and ready for our full day tomorrow. Signing off, over and out!
