Day 4

It never fails, today was another fabulous day here at J Creek. This is the last full day of camp and the sun finally decided to stick around for it. It was truely beautiful outside and everyone was able to enjoy their POI's and Lake Sports to the full extent. This was also a special day because we had our B B B BOAT RACE!!! This is where all of the churches build or throw together some type of floatation device and compete against other church's boats. FBC Sparta was the winner. Worship was also wonderful and powerful. The lord moves so much, the power of a body of believers praising him is really awesome. Tonight is also the staff vs camper basketball game. After this is senior night. Every student to just finished high school is invited to attend where there will be discussion about different schools, pressures, and some advice from the Summer Staffers. See you tomorrow!

Day 3

Hello again! Today was another fun, and exciting day; it rained once again. There seems to be a common there here, anyone else? For the past 3 days it has started out really sunny and hot outside, but right after lunch the rain comes. It's like clockwork. It is truely a testiment of the Lord. Our camp pastor has been saying that everything preaches the gospel. The rain this week falls right under that category. How BIG is the Lord? Tonight at worship our camp Pastor Brent talked about having a childlike faith as opposed to being childish. The passage came from 1 Corinthians 13:11. After worship and Checkpoint time was "Shack Time." Only tonight was different...it was Stage Night! This was a time where anyone who wanted to participate could perform a talent. All around it was another great day here at the Creek!

Day 2

Today was another fantastic day at the Creek. We started out the morning with Morning Celebration, where the students had a little bit of fun and got energized for the day. After Morning Celebration we split up, into our bible studies where we had large group, small group, and break thru time. After this the students went to lunch to get a little bit of fuel. Next we had our POI's, Connect time, and Lake Sports. It was a rainy day here at the creek, but no worries because Rainy Day Rec was here to save the day until the storm passed. After working up an appetite everyone was certainly ready for dinner. Moving on to worship we focused on the "buts of the bible." This was were we really focused on what we were before Christ but now we are transformed in him. After worship churches split up into their Check point times. We ended out the day with some sorbet, nachos, and a kickin dance party at "The Shack!"

Day 1

Today was truely an amazing first full day of camp. Here at J Creek we like to start our mornings off with soemthing called Morning Celebration. Morning Celebration is a time where the energy is really high and all of the students get pumped up and excited for the day. The band plays and we have a funny skit to get the students excited. During the skit we have a weather segment, a game segment, a highlight segment, and an announcements segment. This is a fun way to get needed information for the day out there and to get the kids energized and excited. After Morning Celebration we break up into small group and large group bible studies. From bible study and break thru time we transition to lunch.

After lunch the students then broke up into checkpoint, POI's, and lake sports. Checkpoint is where church groups get to meet together and spend sometime hanging out, bonging, and learning more about the word. POI's stand for Point of Interest; this is the different activities the students signed up for such as mountain biking, kayaking, climbing, arts and crafts, etc... From there we went to dinner. This was the night that the gospel was preached and Jesus was given as the solution to our sins. We opened the altar for those who wanted to make decisions to surrender their life to Christ. It was amazing to see all of the students who felt the Lord's calling and made a decision to follow him. After worship the church groups met together and we ended the day with some "shack time." How wonderful is the Lord!

Camp Begins!!!

Today is the day we've all been waiting for, students finally arrived! It was a wonderful Opening Day here at The Creek. After arriving at camp, students were welcomed by a herd of excited staffers. Once they all crammed out of their vehicles they were gathered together for a group photo. Once this was taken care of students were able to hang out around "the shack" with other summer staffers. Some activities students were able to participate in were: face painting, a costume photo booth, and, a personal favorite, PIE A STAFFER IN THE FACE!! This was a huge hit; it cost $2 to pie any staffer in the face and all the proceeds go to Missions. The total amount we raised was about $88!!!! Truely amazing and all in good fun.

First dinner was served out on the lawn (Crossings tradition). From dinner we went to worship where the students met with their bible study group for the week. At worship heard a quick message from our camp pastor, Brent Gambrel, where he introduced the theme "Adopted." After worship the students met together in their church groups. Ending the night with some fellowship, food, and a dance party at the Shack. It truely has been an exciting first day, and we are excited to see how the Lord will move this week here at Jonathan Creek. Over and Out.
