Day 4

Today was, yet again, a great day here at the creek! The weather was perrrrfect! Today we learned about our future and what that looks like before and after we are followers of Christ. When we become believers we gain a new future. Tonight after our POI rotations was dinner at the Pavilon! This is a Jonathan Creek tradition. After dinner was the B-B-B-BOAT RACE!!! This is where all the churches brought a home made boat and competed against one another. There will be an award for the most creative, the first place award, and the Titanic award. At worship tonight we looked at becoming a "not." The idea is lessing ourselves so that he becomes more. We ended the night off with some shack time and Senior Night!

Day 3

Hello again! Today was another fun, and exciting day. The Lord blessed us once again with a perfect day outside. The sun was shinning and the breeze was flowing. It is truely a testiment of the Lord. Our camp pastor has been saying that everything preaches the gospel. Tonight at worship our camp Pastor Brent talked about being healed. The passage camp from John 5:1-15. Sometimes we get comfortable and good at playing the part of a victim we don't want to be healed because then we would no longer have a cover up. After worship and Checkpoint time was "Shack Time." Only tonight was different...it was Stage Night! This was a time where anyone who wanted to participate could perform a talent. All around it was another great day here at the Creek

Day 2

Today was another fantastic day at the Creek. We started out the morning with Morning Celebration, where the students had a little bit of fun and got energized for the day. After Morning Celebration we split up, into our bible studies where we had large group, small group, and break thru time. After this the students went to lunch to get a little bit of fuel. During lunch we began our Stage Night sign ups as well as our Photo Competition registration. Next we had our POI's, Connect time, and Lake Sports. The Lord has blessed us this week with not so hot weather which is perfect for outside activities. After working up an appetite everyone was certainly ready for dinner. Moving on to worship we focused on the "buts of the bible." This was were we really focused on what we were before Christ but now we are transformed in him. After worship churches split up into their Check point times. We ended out the day with some sorbet, nachos, and a kickin dance party at "The Shack!"

Day 1

Today was truely an amazing first full day of camp. Here at J Creek we like to start our mornings off with soemthing called Morning Celebration. Morning Celebration is a time where the energy is really high and all of the students get pumped up and excited for the day. The band plays and we have a funny skit to get the students excited. During the skit we have a weather segment, a game segment, a highlight segment, and an announcements segment. This is a fun way to get needed information for the day out there and to get the kids energized and excited. After Morning Celebration we break up into small group and large group bible studies. From bible study and break thru time we transition to lunch.

After lunch the students then broke up into checkpoint, POI's, and lake sports. Checkpoint is where church groups get to meet together and spend sometime hanging out, bondging, and learning more about the word. POI's stand for Point of Interest; this is the different activities the students signed up for such as mountain biking, kayaking, climbing, arts and crafts, etc... From there we went to dinner. This was the night that the gospel was preached and Jesus was given as the solution to our sins. We opened the altar for those who wanted to make decisions to surrender their life to Christ. It was amazing to see all of the students who felt the Lord's calling and made a decision to follow him. After worship the church groups met together and we ended the day with some "shack time." How wonderful is the Lord!

Opening Day!

Today is the day that students arrive! We had a wonderful first week and are excited to see how the Lord moves once again. We started out by greeting the churches with a group picture. Next there was FREE TIME. This is when the Staffers and Students get a real chance to hang out and get to know one another by face painting, corn hole, hillbilly golf, basketball, swimming, and much more. The first dinner is always served outside as a Crossings tradition. Worship was a great time and start for the week. We kicked off with some praise and worship, then the students moved into their small groups. The students then recieved their POI's for the week and got to know some faces they will be seeing all week. Our camp pastor for the week is Brent Gambrell. After worship there is a checkpoint time where youth groups get together and discuss their day and have a chance to encourage and pray for one another. We always go out with a bang at "Shack Time." Food, Fun, and Dancing the night away (or until curfew atleast) gets us pumped and ready for our full day tomorrow. Signing off, over and out!
