Keep it kicking Cedarmore!

Another end to another amazing week here at Cedarmore!

As we begin our final morning here at camp, we have spent time learning about what our future looks like in Christ. We talked about all our new life in Christ has to offer and also all the sufferings that will follow along with this new life.

Last night we had the blessing to see many students come to know Christ for the first time, praise God! Pastor Brent spoke about what it means to be the "king's kids." He unpacked the differences in being childish in God and child-like in Him. We are all called to be child-like in our faith and it is a beautiful thing when we are.  We also took up our missions offering for India during worship last night. Thank you all for your prayers in this specific ministry, we ended up collected a total offering of $5,530!

As the churches pack up and prepare for their trip home, we are praising God for His many blessings this week. Thank you all for keeping us in your prayers each day. Continue to pray for the students as they head back to their homes and churches. Pray that the lessons they learned this week will truly impact them in their individual daily lives.

"Do not let any look down upon you because you are young, but instead set an example to the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." - 1 Timothy 4:12

But God...

Yesterday was, once again, an incredible day here at Cedarmore. We spent the morning learning all about what it means to be adopted into the family of God. Students got to unpacked the results we receive by having this new family.

Last night during worship we had the opportunity to skype with some of our own family in Christ in India. We had the privilage to hear from a few of the students in the ministry where our missions offering will be sponsoring. It was a blessing to be able to hear directly from our friends half way around the world.

Pastor Brent talked to everyone last night about "The greatest 'buts' in the bible." He recounted the story of Moses and others who thought they could not be used by God but God used them in powerful ways. Brent encouraged the students to remember that even when they think they can't, that God's name is "I am." The Crossings staff came up at the end of the sermon and each gave a small part of their own testimonies. They each told of what they once were and now what they are by saying "I was, but God... and now I am." It was an amazing display of God's faithfulness. Churches were then dismissed to their checkpoints where they spent time hearing how God has moved in the lives of others in their churches.

After checkpoint everyone met at the shack for Stage Night! What an fun time together!

Continue to pray as we go through our final full day of camp. We will also be taking up our missions offering tonight, so pray as the churches prepare to gather their offerings. Thank you again for your support and I am excited for tomorrow when I get to report what all God does at camp today!

The prodigal father

"We are all the same at the foot of the cross."

Praise the Lord for another amazing day 1 here at Cedarmore! All day long yesterday we talked about the idea of who our Heavenly Father really is and we spent the day having fun together at the waterfront and our may different POIs.

During worship, Pastor Brent spoke on Luke 15:11-32. He explained the story, not from the view of the prodigal son, but from the side of the prodigal father. Brent told us how our Heavenly Father loves us "for no good reason" and pursues us with a crazy love. It is because of this love that we can love God and become His son. Brent told many stories of how he has seen people come to know Christ, not because they changed their behavior, but because they changed their mind and they realized that Christ offers something better.

We were so blessed to see many students realize this same reality last night and to accept it. We now have many new brothers and sisters in Christ! As we go into day 2 we will learned more about what it really means to be apart of God's family.

Pray that today the students will really understand what it means to be a member of their church family and the worldwide church family. Pray also that the students who still do not know Christ would begin to understand His love and would come to Him as well.

Oh happy day!

Hello Cedarmore! It is the beginning of another exciting week here at camp! A total of 23 churches arrived on property yesterday bringing over 500 people, how incredible!

Everyone gathered for opening celebration yesterday evening where the students met their bible study leaders for the first time. After spending time in small groups getting to know one another, we all gethered back in the worship center to hear from this week's camp pastor, Brent Gambrell. As Pastor Brent spoke about this weeks theme, "Adopted", he recounted a small part of his experience in Haiti after this past year's earthquake there.

After checkpoint, everyone met down at the shack for a time of fellowship where we all hung out and played basketball, volleyball and cornhole.

It has been an amazing morning, the student's energy is contagious already! As day one begins here at Cedarmore, pray that these students will have, as Pastor Brent puts it, a change of mind which will in turn change their hearts. Pray that as the gospel is preached tonight, students would be open to receive it.

As always, thank you for your prayers! Its only the beginning of a wonderful week and I am certain I will have some great things to report tomorrow!
